Alongside our Bordeaux range, we also make « free expression » wines from the same terroir, with different vinifications, which give wines of a very particular style.
An oxymoron is a figure of speech that consists in unexpectedly combining two words with contradictory meanings. On our typical Bordeaux terroir, we create wines that go against Bordeaux classicism.
Our Oxymore Orange stands out for:
- A highly original winemaking method: white grapes vinified like reds.
This is likely how the earliest wines in human history were produced 8,000 years ago. Many scientists agree that only white grape varieties existed at that time (red grapes are a mutation that appeared later). Additionally, the wine press had not yet been invented. So, most probably, they would let the grapes macerate in qvevri and wait for fermentation to complete. The solids would settle at the bottom, and they would collect the wine floating on top.
